Two weeks, one build, no meetings
How the studio's prototype rule works, and the four things it has killed this year.

Every idea at this studio gets two weeks and has to end in a playable build. Not a deck, not a document, not a vertical slice — something a person can pick up without being told what it is.
At the end of the two weeks we put it on the table at lunch. If nobody reaches for it twice, it stops. There is no review meeting and no written justification, because we found that the moment you have to argue for a prototype in a meeting, you argue well and the idea survives on rhetoric rather than on play.
Four prototypes have stopped this way in 2026. One of them was mine and it was correct.
